Another day, another dollar

I felt like a learnt a lot today. Also, I cleverly wrote this up on my way home from work so I wasn't up at 11pm working on it instead.

View of some buildings on my way home
I was surprised by how tall these apartment blocks were on my way home, I had never noticed them before.

Finished up learning about closures 🎒

Was fascinating, an interesting listen. I think it can be used it really interesting ways. However, it kind of seems above my level of proficiency. Maybe. Or I'm not sure if it is relevant to me right now. So I think I will take a step back, check out something else that will lend it self to a project I find interesting, and go from there.

🥞 Full stack

When I first started coding I thought it would be better to refer to myself as a full stack developer because it would make me more employable. I thought that since I had cobbled together a web app or two that I had made it to the big leagues.

Boy was I mistaken lol.

Spent a couple of hours learning about the internet. It wasn't all completely new, but it was a level of detail that I hadn't witnessed before, and it really helped put together things I had seen and heard before as well.

Topics that were covered included password hashing, SSH and SSH keys, the various agreed upon standards of internet communication, IP addresses, setting up a server.

Oh, and I used Vim for the first time. It was actually fun. With Vim, I coded a very simple node server. Tonight I'll buy some ☁️ cloud server space and try it getting going. Maybe I'll host this website too (like who am I talking to right now this blog isn't live lol).

Just need to think of a funny domain name. I tried using my real name once and it just didn't vibe with me. That said, I will treat this blog professionally, just in case.
